Bodega Alpamanta

Uco Valley, Mendoza

Bodega Alpamanta is a boutique organic and biodynamic winery in Mendoza's Uco Valley, producing exceptional wines that express the pure essence of their terroir through sustainable practices.

About Bodega Alpamanta

Bodega Alpamanta, whose name combines the words for 'Earth' ('Alpa') and 'Love' ('Manta') in the indigenous Quechua language, embodies a profound respect for nature and terroir. Founded in 2005 by Andrej Razumovsky, this boutique winery has established itself as a pioneer in organic and biodynamic viticulture in Argentina's prestigious Uco Valley.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Andes Mountains, Alpamanta's vineyards are cultivated following strict biodynamic principles, working in harmony with natural cycles and eschewing all chemical interventions. The estate's 35 hectares are planted with Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, each variety carefully matched to the specific soil compositions and microclimates found throughout the property.

The winemaking philosophy at Alpamanta emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing the true character of the fruit and its terroir to shine through in every bottle. Fermentation occurs with native yeasts, and the wines are aged in a combination of French oak barrels and concrete eggs, which provide gentle oxidation while preserving the wine's natural freshness and purity. Many of their wines are produced with no added sulfites, reflecting their commitment to natural winemaking processes.

Visitors to Bodega Alpamanta are treated to an immersive experience that goes beyond typical wine tasting. Tours of the vineyard highlight their biodynamic practices, including the use of special preparations and the importance of the lunar calendar in their farming approach. The intimate tasting room offers panoramic views of the vineyards and mountains, creating the perfect setting to sample their award-winning wines while learning about the philosophy that guides every aspect of their production.
